VOC

Courses and training for the Bodywork Industry

VOC is the central training centre for the entire Bodywork Industry. This institution is active in vocational and business training, refresher courses and re-training projects plus business-specific training, including an On The Job option. The VOC is managed by representatives of both employers and employees. In the VOC, approximately 80 individuals are responsible for the annual training of approximately 7,000 students from the industry as well as 2,000 participants in BBL (teaching path with vocational guidance).

National Network

With regional training centres in the Netherlands, the VOC has an ample national distribution. The branches in Assen, Best, Nieuwegein and Sassenheim can deliver the training that is in demand within the industry. The high quality of education and equipment is another positive aspect. At the APO (complementary practical training) the students are taught elementary skills by experienced teachers. The state-of-the-art materials and equipment used in the spacious, modern training rooms also allow employees taking a refresher course to pick up this knowledge and experience in a practical environment. All centres also have classrooms, in which courses are taught using modern audio-visual equipment.

Training Consultants

The VOC has Training Consultants located throughout the country who are very well informed about the latest developments and practical knowledge of the industry. They can give the employer guidance and advice about the training schedules and courses to be done. They also signal the demand from the marketplace and any new developments at companies and/or suppliers.

Courses

New technologies and developments in the Bodywork Industry necessitate re-training and refresher courses for employers as well as employees. To this end the VOC gives a large number of courses on subjects such as the environment, occupational health and safety, and quality control. Some examples: damage assessment, Audatex, measuring and aligning systems, preliminary work; touching up; aluminium welding, car polishing, caravan repair, glueing windscreens, hydraulics, guidelines for truck building, and management and motivation. The duration of the courses can vary from one or more mornings or afternoons to several full days.

Company specific training

On request of companies and organisations the VOC will take care of and develop custom-designed courses. This may entail training in damage assessment, repair technology and management, but also various brand or company specific training. The VOC holds these courses for insurance companies, fleet owners, assessment agencies, companies, government bodies, importers, lease companies and suppliers.

Training schedules for companies

The Training Consultants at the VOC always stay well informed of new developments within the industry. They not only supply guidance to companies that have vocational students, but, together with the employer, also design an extensive Training Advice Schedule for the company. After inventory of the existing knowledge within the company, a training schedule will be set up for all personnel.

Exams

The ROC's (the schools) often contract the theoretical and practical exams to the VOC. We hold practical tests and exams every day. These practical exams take place in the VOC's regional training centres. Our examinors for these practical exams include employers from the industry.

Cost

The vocational training and the complementary practical education at the training centres are in a large part subsidized by the government and industry. For companies that are covered by the CAO (collective labour agreement) for the Bodywork Industry, the Scholingsverlofregeling (Regulation for Training Leave) of the OOC foundation (training and development funds for the bodywork industry) applies. If applicable, this subsidy regulation allows reduced rates for a number of courses. All information can be found in the VOC's Training Quotes Folder about the courses and cost for "OOC-companies" as well as "non-OOC-companies".
